Saxion University of Applied Sciences, Netherlands

Country of origin: Moldova
Study course: Bachelor in Software Engineering

Why did you decide to study abroad?
I always liked American movies about student life. I knew I wouldn’t experience that in my country but at the same time, I understood that studying in a different country will be hard. So I set myself a goal to study abroad. It was a hard way but I made it.

What made you decide on this university?
I wanted to study in the Netherlands at an Applied Sciences University and at the same time to have a bachelor degree in Software Engineering. I think Saxion University of Applied Sciences is the best University in the Netherlands that has a Software Engineering degree.

How is your experience of studying abroad?
So far I like it. I meet a lot of new friends from different cultures, I have lived in an awesome city called Deventer and I have the most honest and friendly teachers. And what I like the most is that I don’t know much about the Netherlands so for me, this is like an adventure where each day I have to discover new things.

Why do you think others should not miss out on studying at your university
The Saxion University of Applied Sciences has a different approach than other Research Universities. What I like the most here is that we do more practice than theory, so this is more interesting and engaging than reading books all day. The building is very modern and has all the necessary equipment that a student needs. Also, Saxion organizes a lot of parties, so students can relax after exams ūüôā
