University of Chester, United Kingdom
Country of origin: India
Study course: Bachelor in Animal Behaviour
Why did you decide to study abroad?
The course I wanted to do my bachelors in was unavailable at my home country. I then began looking at options outside of India and found the United Kingdom to house most of the universities which provided animal behaviour courses and that was how my journey began. I was excited about moving to a new place and leaving India for the first time. Having a degree from the UK is also recognised worldwide which encouraged me to study here.
What made you decide on this university?
University of Chester is placed very near to the No.1 zoo in the UK and that was one of the main reasons I picked this university. I was also intrigued by the roman culture of the city and how it was a walled city. The university and the city itself are splendid and worth moving to!
How is your experience of studying abroad?
My experience so far has been full of excitement, fear and happiness. When I moved to Chester, I had absolutely no idea about the city or how things work in another country. Turns out everything here is completely different to my home country. Fortunately, the people in Chester are very understanding and help loads! It did not take me long to understand how to live here. The course I study has been awesome and I had to opportunity to visit several animal parks with university which was great! The university staff, the strangers on the street, the people in shops and my friends have been a great contribution toward me enjoying my life in Chester which I now call home.
Why do you think others should not miss out on studying at your university

The staff at Chester are very supportive and most importantly understand how scary starting University can be and they do everything to help.
