Why did you decide to study abroad?
Knowledge and education are intangible resources, and are achieved better when getting out of one’s comfort zone. To make the world around you a better place to live, one must stand out. To do my part for the betterment of society, I felt inspired me to learn engineering in one of the leading countries in cutting-edge technology. I made my way to Germany to experience quality education and a true, multi-cultural environment.
What made you decide on this university?
I completed my Bachelor’s in Mechatronics in Pakistan. After deciding on Germany for my Master’s, I started searching for some good, diverse universities in Germany that would satisfy my thirst for this interdisciplinary field. Finally, I found Hamburg University of Technology to be the best match for my discipline. This emerging research institution has the perfect resources and environment, allowing you to grow professionally and academically. The sports, artistic and extracurricular activities that are all over campus provide a balance between academia and creativity. The best thing about this university is the Industry-Academia linkage and research opportunities that exist in the international city of Hamburg. These attractions led me to Hamburg University of Technology.
How is your experience of studying abroad?
Studying in a multicultural environment always helps you learn better. I am not only having a tremendous academic experience, but the social and cultural activities are providing me with immense fulfillment. Studying in classes consisting of people from all over the world provides great motivation and vision. Learning a new language, especially, enables you to explore a new world. Here in Hamburg, one can find people from almost every corner of the world, making it a strong, international city. Socializing with these people from different parts of the world is one of the nicest things I have ever experienced.
Why do you think others should not miss out on studying at your university
Hamburg university of technology is one of the youngest universities, having only emerged in 1978. Since then, the high volume of research work and the large foreign faculty made this university one of the best emerging universities in Germany. The university has an institute named “NIT” which is an institute inside this university that provides Management and Business skills to Engineers. Currently TUHH is providing many Master’s-level courses in English, like Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Micro Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical and Bio processing, and Mechanical Engineering Management. The best part here is that there is no tuition fee to pay. A contribution of just 310 euro per semester is enough to study and move freely (On semester ticket) throughout Hamburg. So if someone is eager to learn in a diverse environment, filled with lively experience, one must choose Hamburg and TUHH.
