Country of origin: Italy
Study course: Bachelor in Communication Science
Why did you decide to study abroad?
While mainly considering both the professional and academic aspects of a study-abroad experience, it was ultimately my passion for languages and my study interests that led me to such choice. With previous educational activities in foreign countries, I was confident in my selection of an international university path.
What made you decide on this university?
I consider the course provided by UvA as a valid platform launch for an international career, also due to the high ranking achieved worldwide. Not only a mandatory internship is integrated within the program, but a global exchange is additionally available to students. The global environment that UvA offers is one of a kind: worldwide recognized lecturers and researchers maintain the university’s standards of excellence.
How is your experience of studying abroad?
So far, this experience has been rather interesting. Within campus, collaborating with international classmates as well as being able to confront and compare different approaches to potential issues surely broadened and enriched my perspectives. Outside campus, the Duth culture and customs are a work-in-progress discovery – day by day.
Why do you think others should not miss out on studying at your university
Remember that Amsterdam is in a rather strategic position compared to the big European capitals, to the extent that it is often defined as the “gateway” of Europe: it takes about an hour to fly to Paris, or to Berlin, Brussels or London. And if you do not want to fly, you can always take a fast train!
