Why did you decide to study abroad?
Studying abroad is one of the best things you can do for yourself. Since teenage years, I wanted to see the world and also test my boundaries. When I graduated as a 18-year-old girl from a high school in the USA, I realised how important studying abroad could be for every young person. You become independent, responsible, self-aware of your abilities, you experience new cultures and their customs, meet new people, learn new languages and of course have a lot of fun. It doesn’t matter where or how long you want to study abroad. Just do it. Trust me, you won’t regret it!

What made you decide on this university?
Charles University, with 17 different faculties, is one of the oldest universities in Europe (founded in 1348) in continuous operation and ranks in the upper 1.5 percent of the world’s best universities. The main reason why I chose Faculty of Law in Prague is the fact that this faculty is the only one in Europe that offers a Masters degree which combines human rights and environmental protection. It’s in English and most of the professors are well-known experts. Also, living in Prague is truly magical.

How is your experience of studying abroad?
Living in the Czech Republic can be really interesting. Besides Prague – with its 5 million tourists per year – Czech Republic has so many other interesting places, like Plzen, Karlovy Vary, Kutna Hora, Cesky Krumlov, Bohemia and Moravia regions etc. If you like being in nature, Czech Republic is the right place for you, with its beautiful landscape mostly covered by forests. Beer (pivo) is, of course, one of the things that Czech people cannot live without. With so many different types and brands, beer becomes part of your daily life, whether you want it or not. The language is the only barrier. Most of the Czech doesn’t speak English. Luckily there are many foreigners living in Czech who are more than welcome to help you.

Why do you think others should not miss out on studying at your university
If you like to explore and have fun with a glass of beer in your hand, then Czech Republic should be your next destination!
