Country of origin: Brazil
Study course: PhD in Transport Planning
Why did you decide to study abroad?
I wanted to experience learning in a multicultural atmosphere, sharing Brazilian issues with highly skilled professionals worldwide, and hopefully bring innovative ideas back to my country to improve our reality.
What made you decide on this university?
Trinity College is a very reputable University and one of the oldest of the world. It is located Dublin – a often-referenced city in public transport (my research area). Moreover, two professors from Trinity agreed to supervise my PhD research, and they also offered me a good scholarship to study here.
How is your experience of studying abroad?
I couldn’t be enjoying it more. In my department, I do my research among students from Iran, India, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, US, Australia, China, Sweden, Mexico, Brazil, and, of course, Ireland. It has been a spellbinding opportunity to meet people from around the globe and share precious academic and personal experiences.
Why do you think others should not miss out on studying at your university
Studying abroad is one of the the greatest opportunities to broaden our outlook of life. By having this experience, it is more likely that our career be turned into something really meaningful to world development.
