Why did you decide to study abroad?
I have always been passionate about science and getting this opportunity to study at a university abroad with a scholarship was the main driving force to come to Finland. Moreover, experiencing a different study culture, meeting new people and expanding my knowledge base were amongst my priorities.
What made you decide on this university?
I had a background in Biotechnology and wanted to study Nano-science. University of Jyvaskyla was the only European college to provide this combination of study programme. Moreover, Finland is famous for its quality of education and informal system. Additionally, I received a full term scholarship that not only covered my tuition but also took care of my living expense.
How is your experience of studying abroad?
My experience of studying abroad has been so exhilarating. The study culture was so informal which was something I never experienced in India. I met so many people form different parts of the world. Studying with them, I could enjoy their cultures as well. The Finnish system of education allows you to design your own study programme, this made it so flexible for me to dwell on the research topic of my interest.
