Why did you decide to study abroad?
My strong willingness to learn about a new culture, meet a diverse set of people, and lead an independent life are the main motivating factors. I did my B.E in India and I worked as an Application Developer in a Multinational company. Ever since then, I realized that, I enjoy learning a new culture and meeting people from different parts of the world. I believe that getting accustomed with a new environment and exposure to new culture helps me improve my personal as well as professional skills. It also helps me to broaden my knowledge. Hence, I decided to study abroad and it turned out to be the best decision.
What made you decide on this university?
TU Kaiserslautern is one of the best universities in Germany (Ranked 1st in International Student Barometer 2016). Kaiserslautern is one of the largest IT locations in Germany. There are three renowned research institutes associated with TU Kaiserslautern which gives me a great opportunity to research in my area of interest. On top of that, I was awarded a full scholarship for European Master’s program in Software engineering in TU Kaiserslautern, funded by European union.
How is your experience of studying abroad?
My experience of studying abroad is wonderful so far. Going out for an adventurous vacations and gathering life experience is one of the best parts of living abroad. I have been living in Germany for the past eight months and I have already visited four different countries. Meeting different people with diverse cultures is something I really enjoy. I am learning varieties of food recipes, languages, festivals, and different ways of living from my friends. Moreover, living away from my home country is making me more confident and self-reliant.
Why do you think others should not miss out on studying at your university
TU Kaiserslautern is one of the best universities in Germany. It offers more than 16 International Graduation Programs with two fully funded Erasmus+ courses (European Master’s program in Software Engineering and European Masters in Embedded Computing System). More than 15% of student in the university are international students, so the university takes a good care of international students and helps them to get settled in the first few days of their arrival. Many research institutes are associated with this university so there is a plenty of research opportunities in the various field. Students can also get the Hiwi jobs (student job) making their lives easier.
The university has an agreement with various universities all over the world where students can go as an exchange student. Various excursions are organized by the university which allow students to visit different parts of Europe in a low price.
