Why did you decide to study abroad?
Ever since I can remember, the idea of exploring new places and adventures has thrilled me. After spending five years as an Engineering student in my hometown, it was only natural that I should continue my postgraduate studies abroad. Denmark was one of my preferred choices from the beginning, as I was always attracted to the Scandinavian lifestyle. I always envisioned learning its history and its traditions, while also interacting with the locals. After all, I wanted to see first-person how it lives up to its reputation.

What made you decide on this university?
Initially I decided based on the study curriculum. Renewable Energy captivated my interest from an early stage, ever since I started my Electrical Engineering school. Denmark and, more specifically, DTU leads in this sector – both in research and on a practical level. With the goal of acquiring a job here, DTU seemed to be proper transition level to achieve that goal. It is worth noting that almost all of the alumni find their preferred job here within a few months of graduating.

How is your experience of studying abroad?
Studying abroad is an exciting, yet challenging experience. Adapting to a new environment demands effort and sacrifice. In my case, I had to deal with a new culture and way of living that was completely different from what I was used to. With both my personal enthusiasm, as well as the university’s guidance, I managed to adapt quite fast to the Danish temperamen. Denmark is popular for its high rates of development and productivity in achieving global standards; but for me what was truly charming is the way people live their lives, remaining humbled and grateful in all their occupations. I consider myself very lucky to witness that, especially during this period of my life.

Why do you think others should not miss out on studying at your university
The opportunities DTU offers to its students are countless. Starting with their brand new facilities, classrooms and auditoriums – all equipped with high tech teaching technologies – make their classes even more interesting. The campus also provides various study, entertainment and accommodation facilities, as well as a supermarket. Classes are focused on fresh and constantly-updated information, all directly related to real life. They also commonly host presentations from external partners in the industry who come to speak about their working experiences. Concluding, I would describe studying at DTU as a life experience that develops student skills and character, helping them go further in their career and life.
